Why buy a car like this and not drive it? The whole point is to be able to enjoy what you spend a large portion of your life doing - Driving to work. I drive 25 or 35 mins to work each way. That's 1/16 of my awake hours on work days. That's a big chunk of my day. Why spend all this money and not use the car for that time period? |

will by my only car. So DD or course. Glad to see there are many others on here who use this for long commutes to work. I will probably put about 17k miles per year on it. Damn near an hour of my day is for commuting, why not make it as enjoyable as possible?

I'd imagine there might be two schools of thought:
1. The M-car is a really nice car, but it's still a car, and I'll use it for my chores/commute/driving. 2. The M-car is my prized possession, and I'll only take it out once in a while to minimize wearing out its prize-ness. Why this distinction?? Someone made a comment recently to me: "That's hell of a daily driver." Is it because of the cost of the car? Would you feel the same way about a $15k car? |

Yeah, my ///M4 is my DD. I'm amazed at how competent it is as a DD, actually. Sure makes that daily drive a lot more fun! Woot!

Daily Driver, life's to short.
drive it, and enjoy every minute of it. Do you want the next guy to just thank you for keeping it nice for him... Tho mine does try to Kill me every now and again.... not sure what that's all about. |

I switch between my X6M and M4 during the week. Depends on which one I feel like driving to work.

Other than when it's snowing and I drive my Jeep, I drive the M every day. It's a relatively docile car when everything is in comfort mode.

My M3 is my daily driver, but I only put about 7,000 miles a year on my car, so I guess it's all relative.
I do lot a lot of business traveling plus I work from home a couple days a week, so I just don't pile up the mileage.

Yes, it's my DD when I'm in town and not on an aeroplane.

My F80 is basically my daily driver. I have a MK5 VW R32 that I try to alternate between but it currently needs some engine work so it's just collecting dust. But still, I mostly drive the M3.

It is my daily driver and I do about 15k a year. I just wish the DCT was as smooth as the S4's. Other than that, it offers the perfect balance between comfort and sportiness.
