Wow 900lbs is a killer! That being said Andrew I wouldn't debate this especially with your knowledge. I think the Gear Ratio is a Factor as well.

Supporting mods required? About to jump into an M3 and my last M was a e92. Daily a N54 335i, so I figure the mod path is similar.

Intake / DP / Exhaust / Flash Tool (pick your brand) / Turbos.

No intercooler requirements due to Liquid to Air?

I'm in AZ and 91 octane is crap, considering the high flow option...

Anyone that can provide a suggested mod approach for going with the turbos would be appreciated. We have E55 out here, so a flasher with custom tune capability would be recommended due to AZ being stupid about E85 at the pump.

Thanks!

You should get in touch with Steve @ Fuel-it! in AZ. They offer fuel system upgrade products for the M3/M4. Their shop car M4 is running PURE Stg2 with a flash tune, on straight E85! Trapping 172mph in the 1/2 mile! 700whp

Pure, can you please send over a price for the Ti upgraded turbos?
two local M4s have pulled the trigger and are both doing north of 640whp on Stock DCT with GTS software.
Will try them out this weekend and see the daily drivability.

I'm intrigued to see how this power can be actually put down on the road. I'm running a stage 2 Hex tune with DP's, CP's, DCI and exhaust and I'm already snaking up the road.

I think you mean 4WD, I just can see how the S55 can put that on a road safely - unless this is all about 1/4mile straight line fun.

No I actually didn't. Ive been driving 500+wtq cars most of my driving life and eventually it gets easier to harness the power. In the E92 you could drive like the pedal was an on/off switch. Not with this car.

Pure Turbo Installs

Has anyone had Pure Turbo's installed anywhere close to the Charlotte, Raleigh area? I'd like to find a shop to have it done in early May and would prefer to find a shop that had done it at least once before.

I do not believe there is a dealer in Charlotte area for turbo installation. I am sure Jesse can comment on that. We just recently signed a new dealer in Atlanta that is doing our clutch and I believe they have bought and installed turbos from Pure.

Rob@MarkertMotorWorks.com is the contact. I hope this helps.

Ti turbines adds $1200 to our listed price.

Not by much. Many report ~400 rpm? There's really not much "lag" to speak of. 95% of our S55 customers go with the standard issue "High Flow" and are very happy!

The BM3 TCU flash that comes with every tune will allow for ~600WHP reliability. Which can be achieve at fairly low boost on the pure stg 2's... pushing them turbos further (as they have ~700+whp potential) you will definitely need the upgrades clutches

Yes you will need to upgrade the clutch to at least a Spec-R which is the 16 plate. Jesse at Pure can hook you up.....

It would be more accurate to mention torque and not hp when talking about clutch thresholds...

SSP
SSP clutches are great products. But the advise above looks slightly biased coming from you.

Clutch upgrades are not absolutely necessary with upgraded turbos. It is a matter of what torque profile you are running with your tune (or JB4 map). If you stick to pump fuel (or moderate E blends) on stock fueling system, and shave off the nasty mid-range torque peaks and do the GTS TCU flash, you can hold serious power in the top end without clutch slippage resulting in a very fast car.

Of course it goes without saying, that if your goal is to push the upgraded turbos to the max with meth, port injection/ethanol, race fuel or any other sorcery clutch upgrade is a must.

My point is: let us not scare people away from turbo upgrades by misinforming them on further mandatory upgrades.
