long time between posts from when i was looking at buying an f80

i recently had an f80 zcp for the day from my local dealer, and the suspension was a massive improvement over the f82 i had for the day a good year ago which actually put me off the car completely.

the centre aircon vent carbon trim still creeks and rattles like the old m4 i had, especially when you turn aircon on the plastic goes through a rapid temp change lol, but im pretty sure that can be fixed with some sound deadening and felt tape

the zcp overall just felt so much more dialed in than i remember than non-zcp m4, it didnt crash over bumps, the dampening was very well sorted imo

the only issue with regard to ride was the road noise. im sure that can be sorted too - has anyone focal bam'd the rear boot floor and under rear seats?

i was really surprised how much more grip there is on the zcp, i went wot in 2nd with traction off with no wheel spin. the flipside is mdm mode has been seriously neutered, it doesn't allow any slip at all, if you power down with steering lock on it just kills power, in fact i have no idea what it's doing different to traction on

the exhaust does sound a bit better, but what's lacking for me is any real theatre by way of crackles on upshift and downshift. they seem to have programmed in some burble below 3k, but it's only below 3k when perhaps the valve open up? id like to hear an MPE on the ZCP or the valve mod done to keep them open full time, and listen to that on decel

im still on the fence whether to proceed with an order - i'd be getting out of a 16 audi rs3 which is more comfortable and does arguably sound better, but doesn't have the same solid chassis feel or front end

I agree that road noise is much more noticeable in my ZCP. I've been trying to figure out if it was the difference of non-ZCP to ZCP or M3 to M4 but it seems to be the Comp Pack.

it's the result of going from a 35 to a 30 series tyre

Michelin are soon going to release their version of noise reduction tyres, where they use a foam inlay inside the tyre to dampen out road noise

Pirelli already do this on oem fit 30 series tyres - my RS3 had these tyres from factory

since making that post, i have sold my RS3 and await my f80 zcp to arrive within next couple months

Ride height

I may have missed it on the postings, but does anyone know if the ride height is lower on the comp pack?

Love the zcp and would get it all over again, but they really didn't leave much room between the fender lining.

Are the ZCP seats the same as the non ZCP seats except the cut outs and loss of lumbar inflation?

I don't want them to be too tight and no local ZCPs around for me to sit in.

I'm 5'10 215 with 36-38" waist.

I'm 6'2", 235 with 40" waist and no problem, but upper body shape is more important than waist size. We (my wife and I) tried a MB C63 2 years ago and could not put our arms down to the side of our bodies, the bolstering was so extreme that the seats forced our arms in front of us, I know it sounds stupid, but MB lost the sale and we became very conscious of 'performance' seats... The zcp's fit us really well, hope that helps, good luck! BTW my wife is 5'6" 150...

I wish they would of offer them is 9.5J X 19 front and 10.5J X 19 rear with 265 and 285 tires width.
There are advantages, they are a couple lbs lighter than the 19s and are wider.

Increased tire noise due to width & less sidewall....Still a bitch to clean. BUT, I do like the way the 666'ers look.

Looks aside, they are neither lighter nor wider (tires yes, wheels no) and maintain the F9", R10" along with same offsets.

Always amazes me when people comment on things they have absolutely no idea about. TayE90 If you don't know something then don't just guess.
