I figure they know people will go to them because of that same reason. Plus all the eastern shore or south AA county folks. Their crappy service was one of the reasons I became a DIYer for out of warranty work.

Thier attitudes and approach to issues or questions reflects this. The only positive experience I get each time I'm there is when I drive away.

Exactly, my parents go to them and have for a long time (house on the eastern shore). My gf has a mini and goes to them as well when she absolutely has to. I agree out of warranty I am not going there but in warranty I will.

Good to know about Annapolis (and service at there BMW shops in the area). I thought all of these BWM dealers lived and died by their 10 star rating surveys. I guess it is good that I am in a high competition area.
Every time I am there I am asked and told that if there is anything they did wrong, or I am not happy with let them know before I drive away because they would like a chance to fix the issue.

I'm not saying Sterling is great, but I have had really good experiences so far a couple of minor warranty issues, 1200 mile service, and a tire puncture.
The most serious thing I had so far was the rear diff recall.

To be fair, my last two new cars were a Ford and a Jeep, so the service/customer relationship I get when I go to BMW is miles ahead.

Passport will actually bring a car to your house and take your car back for service. Though I would never trust anyone to drive mine. Haha

Thread jacking my own thread, lol:

Has anybody had to deal with the annoying noises coming from the door seals of their car? I've done some research and apparently there is a service bulletin for it, where they use teflon tape to mitigate the noise. Curious if folks had that done under warranty?

I am pretty sure they will loosely address this under warranty. there are definitely some threads floating around for a DIY because I dont think the dealers are replacing the door seals.

Not for nothing, maybe I just love to post in ptper's threads but Annapolis BMW treated my right when I had my radiator replaced and my oil changed. They were cool upfront and more than willing to help me out.

I have called Silver Spring parts service department a couple of times they must stay really busy? I always get the voicemail for service department. I haven't been in to actually check out the place yet.

I stopped by Catonsville then called them later about the M performance HAS and he had no idea what I was talking about and said "it's an M4 it comes with performance equipment".

M performance HAS is basically the KW.
email gethelp@getbmwparts.com or jason@getbmwparts.com they're in Silver Spring's dealership (they're separate but based there)

part#PKF8XSUSPENSION or 33 50 2 414 216

for Catonsville - call Jamie Breneman in service and tell her that parts department sucks and see if she can help. Part 33 50 2 414 216

After a lot of debating back and forth etc etc and reading etc. etc.. I decided to get the KW HAS kit over the M performance kit. ED over at Induktion quoted me a good price on the springs and install with spacers.

Going 15mm FR/12mm rear.

I was at Silver Springs today I got to meet Rachel mostly worked with Brenton, but Rachel said she is stealing me next time I go back which will be soon since I ordered a bunch of Exterior M parts.

Has anyone gotten their i-step upgraded and/or the black seat badges replaced at Silver Spring or any other dealership under warranty? I have an appointment on Monday to see Rachel so I plan to ask her about both, but I was just wondering. My i-step version is F020-15-07-505. Which from my research is old.

Edit: Got my car back Rachel was excellent. I'm still on the old software unfortunately, but I do have black badges on order. If anyone is wondering www.getbmwparts.com has the black badges for the seats and LCI tail retrofits now. They wrote me back and stated that BMW doesn't sell the harness so you have to get it through EAS or another source.

Went from here

To here in about 2-3 weeks

My Z was low, but I'm pretty sure my M4 is lower than my Z was. Going to have to see how long the lip will last me before I raise it up.

ptper Did you ever get this resolved? I dropped my car off this morning and complained about this and i was told they would use something to wipe on the seals to soften them up but as most people on the forums have experienced, this only works temporarily. I wanted the teflon tape fix but ill update when i go to pick up the car to see what was done.

I just got the spray done (three times). They wouldn't do the telfon tape fix because the SB wasn't issued for the F8x. They gave me some other tape to try myself, but it wasn't teflon, it was felt-like material. I gave up asking after that.

I'm currently looking for a service advisor. Thought I was going to Silver Spring to see Rachel because she got good feedback. I called Silver spring four times just to be able to speak to someone in the service department. The first time they transferred me and it went to voicemail. The second time they said they were busy and they said they would call back, I waited four hours. No call. Third time I was put on hold for 27 minutes. The forth time the guy on the phone was rude. Has anyone used Passport BMW and can recommend a SA from there?

Sunday got in the car and had tire pressures of 23 psi all around. Called silver spring to see if they could top off my air without an appointment. Was told sure so headed over. Was told to park outside the service entrance and wait. They say I'm in the que. Wait an hour, clock strikes three everyone disappears the garage door closes. Go inside and the guy at the desk is like oh they should have gotten to you but we close at three.

Sorry to hear that, man. That's bullshit. I wouldn't have waited an an hour. Maybe bring the issue to the service manager?
