if it's the original 4/50, they won't just remove the entire warranty off the car. but there would likely be a disclosure about the lack of running check. if they didn't disclose that part to you, then that would be rather uncool imo.
Yep full NVFW 48m/50k plus demo extension to 51m/55k and have not turned off the MP as of this month so still active at 48m/50k and just had a 1yr service performed at 17,500 of oil & cabin filter

So if nothing happens then I think the receiving/demo dealer slipped one past BMW NA on the car.

I would think you would actually want to bring it in before the 1200 mark so that you can finally take advantage of everything the car has to offer.

A couple of months ago an M4 came in with 14k and the kid missed his break in service and first oil change. The poor car was trashed too. Every panel had dents.

YOUR SA doesn't really care about your car then.

Bumping this up.

Bought my M4 vert this past weekend for 1,200 mile service (was at 1,196). Service Lane Manger told me I was no longer welcome on their private property, despite BMW NA controlling every aspect of dealership aka responded superior. Good thing it's a lease, as BMWFS has a problem. Dates back 14 years with multiple matters with this specific center, including giving a sub 10 survey to this same SA 2 years ago when they damaged the fine line wood trim of my X5 50i and complained about it

Why go back there
Only local service dealership within 100 miles. This same dealership used my initial security deposit on a 2004 328 vert to offset their buy back of the vehicle from BMWFS. In 2014, had a clean 60 day lease turn in inspection and clean report at vehicle turn in for a 2011 335is vert, despite this a 3rd inspection was ordered which showed 1,200 in damage, I found the car in the CPO section and the 'damage' was never repaired. This past spring, convertible top broke for 2015 435 vert, dealership wanted me to sign a general release after I mentioned the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, then I told him no as it was part of their BMW Center Agreement and Service Manger told me to take my business else where.

I'll request BMW NA to flat bed it where they want for service and return it on a tow truck.

PS Dealership became defensive after I found out the initial work, including installing a new fuse for the 2015 435 vert was never entered into the vehicles national service history. This is against BMW NA policy.

I recall a post here recently where a CA-based member said he took his delivery at the PDC and drove the car cross-country to get home. He inquired with BMWNA about the break-in service beforehand since his trip was going to far exceed 1,200 miles. He was told 1,500 is the max he is allowed to push the service to, so he got it done somewhere in Nebraska on the way home.

Does the 1200 mile break in service go by miles only because I took delivery of my new M3 today and it was sitting in dealer log for a month and I get the service notification now.

I will get it serviced close to 1200 miles , that would be the way right ?

My car showed the 1200 mile service warning when I took delivery.

i made sure i did go over the 1200 mile service. The car is a lease but if i decided to keep to i didn't want to chance it.

What i don't get is, why chance it?

Another thing is that no one ever told me the importance of bringing it in at 1200, there should be something you sign that makes you aware of the importance.

The car constantly telling you isn't enough? Your CA or BMW genius should have told you.

Ok did you order the car or was it sitting on the lot?

Is this normal then? I can ignore and wait for mileage to get it serviced.

Well neither I picked the car that was on a transport ship already so it didn't sit on the lot for awhile. I'm pretty sure they all come from the factory with that warning already in place. Just wait for the mileage. Oil doesn't break down just sitting there.
