Did y'all install an aftermarket exhaust?

Did any of y'all install an aftermarket exhaust. I seriously think it's must to have a good exhaust on the M3. Heck even the M5 sounded terrible with the stock exhaust.

I have the MPE installed, people in this forum either love or hate the MPE, there is no middle ground due to the massive price tag (same goes for Akra). I personally like it.

Depending on the tone you want to achieve there are a few good options, now being surrounded by a lot of people who has different aftermarket exhaust here (on a regular basis), I have pretty much heard all of the more popular set up (AWE Res and Non-Res, Remus, FI, Armytrix, MPE, Akra (catback vs axle), Dinan, AA+Dinan, AA Full, AA+Stock. What kind of a racket are you looking to make?

I have the MPE on my ZCP M3. It's a great exhaust if you can get past the price tag.

I did a simple Muffler Delete on the M5. Cost like $200 with tips and labor. I was asked a few times about what kinda exhaust was I running. With M3 with 6cycl. I don't know how Muffler delete would sound. I do like the AWE non res exhaust.

I have the MPE as well, and I love it for what it is! It sometimes sounds too similar to the "fartcan" sound sometimes, however. It's not enough to make me want to switch exhausts after spending so much on the MPE, but I am curious what exhausts that pass smog sound like. Is the rattle sound inherit of the S55? Another thing I love about it is that it doesn't have the brain splitting drone that I have experienced in other modified cars. I really can't stand it. The MPE is just loud enough at cruising speeds to be exciting without being annoying.

I'm very on the fence about getting the MPE and I don't know what is going to sway me one way or the other. I still have yet to hear anything other than my stock ZCP exhaust, which is pretty damn good btw.

Under what conditions do you notice the MPE sounding similar to a fartcan?

In hindsight, knowing what you know now, would you keep your $5K+ or would you still get the MPE?

I agree with an upgraded exhaust being a must on this car .. Our most popular options are Active & REMUS

The best sounding exhaust will vary between each individual. You have to hear them in person, some are raspier than others, more high pitched, bassier, the list goes on. I have had AWE resonated and now have Remus. Each one sounds good in its own right but I heard them before buying them.

Akra Evo + Akra DP's here.
Interior clip before it was broken in:

It sounds a lot less raspy and deeper now. I will make another clip sometime after the winter passes.
