M3 Wheel Question

If you order the 19" rims, do they let you keep the OEM ones? Or is the removal of the OEM rims part of the price?

If you are talking about the competition package (ZCP), the 19" wheels are a no-cost option vs. the 20" 666 wheels, but you only get the set you choose for the car.

I just meant the 19" wheel option, non ZCP.

Was wondering if you also get the OEM wheels.

Nope, only the wheels you select.

No, if you order the 19s, that is all you get. Of course you can always buy a set of the 18s through your dealer or probably on-line.

Damn.

I got a wheel option from Subaru and they let me keep the OEM ones. Was a pretty sweet deal. Just wanted something to throw winter tires on.

The 19s ARE OEM. They're a factory option...installed at the factory.

Yeah I was wondering what the OP meant by OEM wheels. All the wheels that you order with the car are OEM.

Well, by OEM I meant the 18" non-option wheels. The standard wheel option.

It sounds like the Scooby wheels were dealer-installed, not a factory option. If you order optional 19s they're installed at the factory.

Have ordered many many cars from several manufacturers (inc Subaru - several). Have never heard of them 'giving' you the standard set of wheels as an additional set. That would be up to your dealer assuming they have the wheels and are making a good amount of $$ on the back end of the deal.

This is very common for dealer installed wheel packages, especially among Japanese marques. Actually, BMW dealers will do it as well if you have them install an accessory wheel package.

If you are buying additional equipment (wheels, floor mats, covers, etc) from the dealer, what you do with the old gear is entirely up to you.

When you order a new car from an automaker of any brand, what you spec is what you get. For example, if you picked sports suspension (on a non-M car), you are not going to get "standard" suspension as spare parts. Same with DCT, same with the wheels.

Again, what happens after new vehicle is delivered to you from the factory, is entirely up to you. Some dealers will accept old wheels for "trade-in", some will swap them out with other cars on the lot, some will sell them to you outright.

This is not to be confused with ordering options on a new car from the OEM - which was OP's question.

Why are you explaining something I just explained? I get it. The OP was the one that was confused.

You keep saying OEM, the 19's are OEM as well as the 20's. The 18's are the wheels included in the base price of the car, the others are options.

If you choose the HK stereo back in 2015 you don't get the base speakers handed to you. lol

Can you order the 666 wheel without ordering the comp package? I didn't think you could but am I mistaken?

No, but you can buy them separately: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...h/36112287500/

At almost $5K for the set, makes the CP look like a pretty good deal, although of course you can recoup some of that by selling the 18s.
