FYI, that C7 refers to the chassis code (model generation) of his RS6 (or former RS6 now apparently, per his comment above). It's not meant to say he has a C7 Corvette as well as the RS6.

Why not consider the M2 if you're cool with a coupe?

I'm obviously in the minority but I really enjoy my 2017 CLA45. I had a 2015 previously and the DCT was definitely improved for 16+. It also feels a bit quicker with the extra HP and shorter gearing. I only drive mine in manual mode (with ESP in sport) and the paddles are very responsive. I don't see the DCT as an issue anymore or at least not what folks experienced in the early years. Mines pretty loaded up so the interior is decent for the most part and the recaro's are the best seats I've had in a car to date. It does has some cheaper plastic in spots but that kind of stuff doesn't bother me. I also think a tune is a must! Good luck with your decision.

I just traded my 2016 CLA45 w/ 2300 miles for my '17 M3 w/ Comp. Pack. I also took a $10k beating doing so. I can tell you that the CLA is a fun little car but it doesn't compare to the M in any way. First off, the build quality is shit. The day I drove it home, it had rattles everywhere. The motor is pretty impressive for a 4 banger, but gets hot quick when driving aggressively. That heat translates to less power. The transmission actually shifted perfectly. The teething issues in the prior years are all worked out now. Yes, when using launch control, the car is very fast, but you can't use launch control at every stop light. When accelerating from a roll, the car has quite a bit of boost lag until second gear hits. Not fun at all. The M doesn't require launch control to haul ass off the line. In addition, the midrange and top end acceleration is not even close to my M3. I know, I know, I paid almpst $20,000 more for my new M than the CLA. Truth be told, I'd rather have a 340I with some goodies than a CLA. A boosted inline 6 is worlds better than a 4 cyl. I hope this helps you to NOT waste your hard earned money.
