Engine - E90 instantaneous response with the throttle E46 and E90 have it but the F80 M3 and Giulia dont but it doesnt take long to feel the power and you feel a lot more than the NA's. You would def have the fun driving spirited as you're going 100mph in very minimal time on strong accel - still breaking in so thats a reserved statement. Suspension is tight, i love it. E90 has great suspension as well, both top notch. BMW has more ability to mess with the assists - Giulia in race mode turns off all assists and you can't turn them on. For example, I like to get all the power in my M but still have MDM on to save my a**. Giulia says you save your own a**. They say you get higher torque limits in race mode but id like to have insurance(TC/ESC) if i have all that power. The steering response is better in giulia but the heavy feel is better in the e90 (electric vs hydraulic) its actually very similar to the f80 electric but maybe a bit more responsive. E90 has a bit more room in the back. The sound system is better in the bimmer even though theyre both HK but i think the giulia has one sub and the bmw has 2 possibly for light weight. But sound isn't the end of the world if you buy any of these cars as the motors provide great noises. Interface is similar to Idrive, i like both but like the giulia right now, prob a little biased but it a bit more sleek in the giulia. I mean the Giulia is far more car compared to the e90 but i dont see me getting rid of one for the other. I might end up keeping both. E46 might have to go but then i have that with a roll cage and 5 point harnesses for track purposes so im having a hard time stomaching selling that. One thing i love about the giulia is that the under side of hood is unpainted CF and so after you stare the engine for a bit you look up and see nothing but CF, which is pretty damn lit. I mean i can go on for a bit comparing them, so im gonna keep it brief I've left out a lot but anything you or anyone wants my comparison on, feel free to ask. Brakes are 6 piston in front and 4 piston in rear like F80 i believe, e90 is single piston but they work, and they work good. On any of the mentioned cars. Quote:
Yeah its unfortunate with the weather, just be safe! Beautiful car and congrats man! welcome to the club :P Quote:
The transmission is surprisingly DCT-like. Hard snappy shifts! like i was truly blown away that it was an 8ZF. I've seen the coupe renders and it looks good!! I love it so far for the minimal time ive had it. I'll continue updating with the time! Quote:

@Rkmm it was nice here today so I took it for a quick highway trip....
steering is def. lighter and quicker than in my E92 or F80... acceleration is sublime...was doing 85 in a blink...what was scary was that I was not shifting and I was in Normal mode(blue?)..not brave enough to run it in anything else yet...slight lag in the initial stab of throttle..then whoosh...the F80 had a similar lag not bad..but you feel the Hp difference....the E92 had to be in the upper rev range and it would pull really well.... still not used to the brakes...could be me but the M was easier to modulate...still brings a smile to your face

Brakes were just hard to find that smooth feel for....maybe just an adjustment period. Smile on my face and yours haha id say maybe the F80 has a slight less lag if anything compared to giulia do you have F80 and E92 or which ones have you owned. Never owned F80/2 myself. Congrats on your first big drive! Glad youre liking it!

Congratulations!
I checked with the local Alfa dealer in Fort Worth last week and was told they had two coming in this week: one already sold. They were asking for $5K deposit. |

Same here, I don't feel M is off, I was def ready for something new, I was thinking Italian but nothing really came close. The Giulia does that and more. Also I have also owned a 2000 E39 M5, literally was insane. I sold it 3 months ago. It was a sad day. I must say the timing was on point for my self as well. I def took a leap of faith also! I'm used to being spoiled by forums on BMWs that have been around, Giulia forums empty AF. Haha. ZERO diys! You can take it as a bad thing or as an opportunity! I wish you the best of luck with yours! They seem sturdy IMO. I'm hoping to provide a good review. Chris Harris liked the 8ZF more too vs. 6MT |

Appreciate all of the feedback
That caliper clearance is insane, I'd be worried about debris getting caught up between the inside of the spokes and scratching the caliper. A 5mm spacer would be worth it for the piece of mind. I'm on the fence about the CCB, I wonder if that has a similar clearance as well.

Congrats on the new cars guys and thanks for posting. Nice to get impressions from other m car owners.
2 things I would love to get your thoughts on are oil temps / limp mode at hpde. Once you get there, can you please post temps of your cars and what temps your e90m got to? If you have any personal lap times you are comfortable sharing that would be amazing I just replaced my f80 (got a friend's modded 996 TT) but have a soft spot for fast sedans/wagons and will be back at some point. Guilia qv definitely on my radar screen |

There are at least 4 owners on giuliaforums and there are 18 for sale on autotrader right now. There are 62 pre-spec QV's in first batch allocation to NA dealers

Looks are subjective but Auto Bild and Bild Am Sonntag named the Giulia the most beautiful car of 2016 and the Germans know a thing or two about good looking cars. I think it is beautiful and cannot wait to get mine later this year!
Press The new flagship sedan from the iconic Italian carmaker has won one of Germany’s most prestigious automotive awards Since 1976, each year The Golden Steering Wheel awards are hosted by the German publications Auto Bild and Bild am Sonntag. Vehicles are voted on by their readers plus a panel of 29 automotive experts, distinguishing the best models in each market segment. This year, the Most Beautiful Car award went to the Alfa Romeo Giulia, honouring the Italian carmaker’s flagship sedan for its looks. Some panel members included rally world champions Walter Röhrl and Sébastien Ogier, DTM champion Mattias Ekström and designer Andrea Zagato. Created by the Alfa Romeo Style Centre, the exciting Giulia is a new expression of the best Italian tradition that combines harmonic proportions, linearity of style, high quality materials and sophisticated aluminium, wood and leather accents. All embellished with iconic elements originating in brand’s over one-hundred-year history, the most significant of which is the trefoil, arguably the most famous emblem of Alfa Romeo design.
