So once the car arrives at port, does it take about 4-5 days for it to get to the dealer?
My dealer is like right next to the port.

If my car does not catch tomorrow's ship, then my car will arrive on Aug 06.
My car's monthly lease payment begins on 14th every month, so hopefully it will arrive dealer before that day.

I was told it takes ten days from the day it lands at port to the day it is ready for delivery, and that is also dependent on where exactly your car is located on the actual ship. They are driven off the ships in a first in last out basis so if you were one of the first to be driven onto the ship, you will have to wait longer until they get yours off it.

The ships that transport vehicles are not like container ships, they are specially designed to be like a floating multi-level parking.

This will give you an idea of what I mean. My SA explained it to me very clearly, once the ship arrives to port the cars are all driven off and sent to the BMW preparation center where they are evaluated, quality controlled and then and only then are they loaded onto transport trucks for distribution to the dealer.
