Couldn't have said it better. I'm not an old fart by any stretch of the imagination and I much prefer the design of the 18s. My RS5 has 20s and I don't think the 18s on the M4 in person look too small at all plus I like the concavity. Now I still plan to get aftermarket wheels because what I really want is the ZCP wheels from the E92.

Personally, I'd always rather have 18" wheels on each corner, as opposed to heavy 19" or 20" boat anchors.

The 19" wheels are only a little over 20 lbs (22.9 lb. front & 23.4 lb. rear). The 18" can't be that much lighter.

I think the 19" wheels look alot better than the 19" wheels on my E46 M3. I never have liked those and they are multi-spoke.

I agree. They do look great.
This forum makes me chuckle. To many there's only one way (cosmetically anyway) to spec these cars... white with black 19s, full orange interior, carbon roof and interior trim. |

Spy - My experience is that PSS on 19" wheels wear out about 40% faster than PSS on 18" wheels. I know they are rated the same. I don't have a clear explanation for you.
I fully expect mine on 18" wheels to last longer. ... Regarding sizing, I've always been a fan of seeing a bulging stiff sidewall rather than a stretched thin sidewall on my cars. Meaty tires in both tread width and sidewall design. On that count, the 18s on this car do it for me. I'm also all about the ride quality and while the 19s were great, I think the 18s will be perfect for the blend of performance and comfort in this car. I'll be DDing as well with lots of business travel. |

That looks absolutely money! Love it.
If I were buying a new F80, it'd be with 18s as well. The 19 base wheels just never sell that well in a few years (look at the 220M, they are worth less than the 219s). Not to mention these can be used as track wheels, because I know too damn well that I'd go aftermarket when the mod bug bites.

I just noticed in the 18" wheel Alpine White side-shot above, the rear tire is actually not touching the ground on it's outer tread area. Wonder if that's road condition or really that aggressive stock rear negative camber.

One reason people forget is 18" will have better tire options for straight line traction. Once you start making 500whp forget about 19".
Plus 18" wheel design is so much better. I'm happy they weren't offered in 19" otherwise I would have a dilemma. |

I personally can't stand the look of the 18's. The 19's look and size just fit the car so much better IMO.

Couldn't disagree more. There's nothing original about the 19" design (not including the two tone version). It looks exactly like the M6 which makes the M4 look like a baby m6 GT car instead of a sporty car. The 18s look like they are made for the race track

I'm getting the two tone version myself, and I don't see any originality out of the 18's either. To each their own, though.

More comfort, less road noise, less prone to pothole damages, no need for extra set of rims for winter tires.
