Another H&R SUPER SPORT Review
I was tired of waiting for the SPEC R's so I just went ahead and got these. I'll likely go back to Swift Spec R's when they finally release. I don't think there's anything wrong with them - It just may not be for me after seeing how low this car is. M3 is a nice car, so I feel like a stance kid with it this low.
I ordered them from Extreme Powerhouse since they had the best price after shipping. They arrived fairly quickly. I had my Buddy (Magic Mike) at BMW of Dallas install them while he was working on some other warranty stuff. I randomly stopped in before he was finished and the car was very low. Like really really low. The front of a nike running shoe barely goes under it with the M Performance Lip. On the F80/F82 FB discussion page I was getting alot of mixed information. They said "sport" springs are red. "super sports" are Blue. Well Mine were red so I was thinking if these are actually sports then the super sports must be in the weeds. I've verified on super sports. There is a lot of confusion on sport v. super sport since vendors are using stock photos from H&R. So sometimes blue, sometimes red, sometimes black. Vendors should really start taking pics of what they are actually selling the "may be different than photos" is half brained. I don't know what everyone else's colors are but mine are Red. Looked at the Part number on the Box and on the spring, my red springs have super sport part numbers for F80 M3. So at least I got what I paid for. Ride is fine. Not bouncy. It's modestly firmer. I have adaptive suspension. I don't feel like I've compromised ride quality at this point but It's only been 12 hours LOL and I haven't driven it through the really crappy roads yet. But normal and modestly crappy the car has been fine. Chance I may take it to the track on the 30th to see if I've totally ruined the car or not. I know for sure it's low enough that I have to be super careful on inclines. Stock was challenging enough. I think it looks much better. From a style standpoint I do like really low cars. But from practical sense, not so much. I don't drive this car daily anymore so it's tolerable. I put 15mm spacers in the rear on stock wheels and tires, and 12mm up front. No rubbing, even under compression. Which is good since I'll be putting aftermarket wheels on this very soon. Anyway cuing up Iphone Pics. Red Spring, F80 Super Sport Part Number. |

Thanks for this. Good write up. I decided to wait for the Swifts, but isn't the drop about the same on them? Your car does look great on the SS, but you are going to be sweeping up cigarette butts on the road with the front lip. lol
Thanks for taking the time to review them. |

Swift F80 springs not as low. If you put Swift F82 springs on your F80, then almost as low. H&R Super sports still lower in the front.
Again, I was holding out for the Swifts but got tired of waiting. When I hit the track in it and the car is still acceptable I likely wont change. I have a lap time already completely stock as a basis so as long as the H&R's haven't slowed me down I may leave it as is. I don't expect to go faster since the car was quite good as-is. |

Wow. Car looks great. I might go this route until the Ohlins RT become available in a year.
I have a question though. On the EAS spacer thread, the general consensus is that the best fit is 12mm rear and 15mm front. However you stated that you did the reverse of that.... And from your photos, it looks to be a fantastic fit. Was that a typo or are you really ruining 15mm rear and 12mm front? I wish the folks in the spacer thread would take photos in the angles you've taken. |

I am running 12 mm front, 15mm rear.
I'm on stock tire sizes so I think it's ok to run 15mm to the rear. I'll be flipping them when I mount 295's though. No vibrations observed so far. |

So I mounted 275/30-19 and 295/30-19 ADVAN AD08R's on the 437M's and this is what has happened:
Tires are slightly shorter OD than stock MPSS. So car is physically even lower than before. I'm now starting to scrape a little more frequently in places I used to not scrape. One of my front splash covers has actually fractured. I was running 12mm spacers up front and 15mm in the back. I flipped the spacers to 15mm front and 12mm back in anticipation of rubbing. Well both rub. Tried 12mm up front and front rubs. I have 5mm in the back for now and no rubbing. Based on what I've measured 10mm up front and 7-8mm for the rear should be perfect. If I were staying on stock MPSS sizes I would have gone 15mm all around. |

A) I already had a feeling the 35 profile would be too tall for the height I'm at based on how the OEM tires were fitting.
B) I am running AD08R which do not come in 35 profile at 295. |

Also, do you have pictures of the AD08Rs mounted on your 437Ms. This is the "low-key" look I've been looking to do which is why I got a set of 437Ms as well. |

I swapped for KW V3s and couldn't be more happy with them. They handle better than stock and have a stock feeling ride quality. ITs just tough to drop the car on the stock dampers unless it's barely dropped. I dont know where that threshold is... But I know those red HRs are past it.
