Kudos M4 Build - YMB
I will update this post with all major changes periodically
The aim of this thread is mainly going to be a visual account (lots of photos) of cool features and changes done to the car So I picked up the car on Saturday 26th June 2015 and opted for the following spec: 3R92 F82 M4 Coupe S55 3.0 B68 Yas Marina Marina Blue metallic LKSW Black Extended Merino Leather 248 Steering wheel heating 2MK Seven-speed Double Clutch Transmissiom (M-DCT) w/ DRIVELOGIC 3AG Reversing Assist Camera 420 Sun Protection Glass 4LX Interior Trim Finishers - Black Chrome 4LY Aluminium Blade Interior Trim 552 Adaptive LED Headlights 5AC High Beam Assist 610 M Head-Up Display 688 Loudspeaker System - harman/kardon surround sound 8TH Speed Limit Display I opted for the silver OEM 19"alloys - I aim to get these refurbed in full gloss black pretty soon. The OEM black option just annoys me that they are half black, half silver - its neither here nor there in my opinion. Handover Day I traded my E92 in as part of the purchase, so I was pretty gutted driving to the dealership as the M3 was showing me exactly why I'd kept it longer than any car I have ever owned. The M4 has a long way to go to get under my skin like the M3 did. But hopefully we get there in the end. Couple of must haves were the LED's, HUD and HK pack..oh and YMB! I wasn't really expecting it to knock me off my feet at the sight of it, and it didn't to be honest But its a great base to work with and I think with a few choice additions will be a serious weapon! Some LED porn Seats that light up - nice little touch Just to remind you whats under the bonnet Was a bit late taking a pic of the mileage in all the excitement lol All in all, over the moon with the purchase and the car is brutal (even under 5k while in the bedding in phase!!) I'm going to need to make this MY M4, as it still feels like I'm borrowing it! 19th July 2015 - M Performance + KW 18th September 2015 - Vorsteiner VFF-103 Vorsteiner VFF103 Last edited by KudosM3; 10-06-2015 at 04:57 AM.. |

First Day
I want to get the Running In service done as soon as possible, so I planned out a route to put the car through its paces - mixture of country lanes, motorway and built up areas. Yasma got its first feed - full tank set the range to 360 odd miles After arriving at my first destination the bugs were piling up on the front bumper Then off to destination 2 and stop by to a Yas Marina house and then onto final destination by this time the I had been on the road for almost 6 hours. How time flies, and I was starting to bond with the car a little more. It does everything really well, feels quite big on the road but the torque is something else! 28.8mpg! I wasn't hanging about either! Its a great car, it can do almost anything you want it to and it gives you the feeling that you can take anything else on the road (obviously you can't!) When I was in cruising mode or traffic, slap it in Auto mode - Efficiency - Comfort suspension - Comfort steering...then when I wanted full Attack Mode press M2 and you have Sport Plus everything, M-Drive Rev counter comes up on the dash and you switch to the power/torque gauges on the iDrive - what a place to be! The sound of the exhaust, above anything else, is what has taken me by surprise. For an OEM exhaust system, it sounds BRUTAL. I'm enjoying this one! Still got half a tank left Last edited by KudosM3; 07-19-2015 at 05:10 AM.. |

Are you lowering the car or leaving stock height? Please post pics as soon as spacers are installed

Today was a productive day - got my spacers fitted and also fitted the M Performance front grills
Gave it a wash too and one of the Rear Camera and 'M View' on HUD The rear end look really beefy now I think pushing the wheels out has accentuated the need for a drop though, although I'll judge that after next weekend when the rest of the M Performance kit goes on |

One thing about the M4 that has been bugging me has been the ride height. Its just too high for my liking and feels a bit 'floaty'
However, I love the Adaptive Suspension which really does make a difference in ride quality in each setting- Comfort - Sport - Sport Plus I didn't want to lose this functionality so a coilover kit was not on the agenda for me. I researched long and hard to see what options were out there, it boiled down to the following options: Litchfield - a very good drop and good reviews on comfort/ride quality, however very expensive for just springs Eibach - never really been a fan of Eibach on any of my previous M's. I found H&R's a better ride and drop on my E92 M3 H&R Sport - The drop at the back is more than the front and IMO looks odd, otherwise would be the way to go H&R Supersport - Looks great, but the front is low and I don't want to slow down for every bump to a crawl as I will be running the M Performance splitter This process of elimination has led me to the KW H.A.S kit which allows for height adjustment and slips onto the OE dampers and therefore keeps full Adaptive Suspension capability. The kit allows for a 5-25mm drop front and rear A few members have been very helpful and have compared the H&R's with this kit and commented that the KW's ride a lot better, handle better and overall the best option currently for the F82 M4 They arrive this week so once fitted I will do a proper review |
