ESS Tuning Stage 1 Performance Flash Tune - ER Downpipes / Akrapovic Evo

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Flash tunes have been a popular subject as of late, we wanted to share the results on our shop M4 as development progresses. All runs are on 91 fuel.

Peak gains of 60whp and 70ft-lbs TQ can be seen through the powerband, with all the benefits of Flash tuning, allowing the DME to remain in full control of engine output and keeping critical safety systems in place. Our M4 pulls like a beast on the street with a punch in torque down low and linear power feel, how it should be offered from factory.

Specs
2015 BMW M4, DCT

Fuel
91 Octane

Modifications
ESS tuning Stage 1 Flash Tune
Evolution Racewerks Catless Downpipes
Akrapovic Evolution Exhaust
BMC Performance Filters

Features
- Flash Tune allows FULL ECU control & operation
- Increased Boost Maps & Timing Control
- Full OBD2 port access to retain diagnostics/datalogging/critical safety systems
- Optimized Throttle response in Normal, Sport and Sport Plus modes
- Valvetronic changes for throttle smoothness, increased drivability and linear power delivery
- Reprogrammed Torque management
- Optimized for 91/93 Octane fuels

Options
- Raised Rev limiter (7600RPM)
- Top speed/VMAX removal
- Overrun removal
- CEL delete for those running Catless downpipes (off-road use only)
- Cold Start Delete

In-house Flash tuning and dyno testing is available for those local to our facility in Anaheim, CA. More to come.

Baseline performed was with bolt-ons already installed. Gains shown are from flash tuning.

Impressive guys.

Question: For those of us that have access to 100 oct fuel, do you have the ability to change maps to a more aggressive tune? Or does that require reflashing the ECU?

Nice numbers. Now for the obvious question...is the tuning just for the M3/M4 or do you have it for other models?

While there is two tuning options for the T-500 tune stage 1 for 91 octane and stage 1+ for 93 octane +. The target-based tuning will allow and adapt to high octane.

No, ESS has a full line up including n55, s63, n63 and n20 for flash tuning. We can flash all in-house or for those that are willing to ship us their DME, we can overnight it back to them.

Bench flash at the moment. OBD flashing option will be made available shortly down the road, we will be making an announcement when ready. Most vehicles can be flashed/dynoed same day.
