Crank Hub issues

I'd like to get some data on this to see roughly what percentage of cars are affected by this, if it's a significant problem or if it's only happened to a handful of cars. Feel free to post how many miles you have on your car as well.

I myself have been stock for 19000 miles but will tune my car soon, I also want DPs but this crank hub stuff worries me just a bit

Great Poll. DP's and Tune. Bought Crank Hub, but haven't fitted it yet.

My mod friendly dealer told me not to. They fitted full Akra including Down Pipes No problem at all. CAr running very strong, zero issues. Just bought the hub as a precaution.

Lol this is a useless poll... you are aware of how many thousands of cars that are out there that are stock...? you are extrapolating data from completely skewed numbers. The only valuable number is how many total crank hub failures have happened... everything else in this poll is statistical garbage.

Actually, there have been at least 5. sA x sKy has had 4 of them - one with stock hub and three with the TPG hub.

It is merely data collection. There is nothing wrong with that. This poll serves as a collated source for folks to report their status, that's all.

19,500 miles on stock hub.

Per my understanding on another thread, tuning should have absolutely no effect on a failed hub. Power output is not a factor in the crank hub's failure. Over-revving/money shifts, yes.

Also, I think this thread is relevant in identifying any unknown crank hub failures among the forum. So far we've got one member with 4 failed crank hubs - indicating possibly an isolated problem with his crankshaft or some other part. He's had both oem and aftermarket crank hub failures now. Aside from that there's a few random cases....and the reason for failure is not yet clear on ANY case.

Are you tuned?

I agree there is no answer to why this is happening.

Why what is happening? Thousands of F8X cars sold and we know of a few cars that have had an issue?

I understand the numbers, however, I had the unfortunate experience of having it happen. So, it makes it an issue for me (I guess I'm the less than 1%).
