New 2016 Imola Red ///M4 Build w/ Photos

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Hey Everyone,

Usually the type to keep to myself, I felt compelled to share my build with you guys. After spending countless hours on the forums lurking, learning, planning my build, and reading all the great success stories, I thought I owed it to the community and future M owners to share my journey.

From the first time I saw an E36 M3 I knew I had to have an M, like every other teenager at the time I still had Lamborghini/Ferrari posters on my wall, but the M was my attainable dream car. Year after year I imagined what it would be like to have one, envied all who drove one, and kept telling myself one day my time would come. After moving to the U.S. 2 years ago from Canada, I knew I was getting close but it still wasnÂ’t time. I did the responsible thing and bought a house first, got a couple promotions and in December I finally put my order in.

Having always owned a neutral color (black, white, silver) I decided it was finally time to go with something that stood out. While I find all of the standard colors beautiful in their own way, none of them made me feel like I had to have it. At that point I decided an individual color was the way to go, and it took me all of 5 seconds to decide on ImolaÂ… I canÂ’t exactly say why other than I always found it to be the perfect shade of red, both in the day and night time.

As far as the build goes, it was simply a combination of what made sense for me, IÂ’ve never owned a coupe before but without a wife and kids I figured if not now, then maybe never. The MT was a no brainer, I realize when it comes down to performance itÂ’s inferior to the DCT, but I just simply love the feelings of rowing through gears, even in the hell of traffic that is Atlanta. Then came the really fun part, mods!!! My list started small, especially compared to some of the builds on here but thanks (or no thanks lol) to everyone on the forums, it quickly grewÂ… what else was I supposed to do while waiting 3 months other than spend money on parts for a car I didnÂ’t technically have yet?

Anyways, enough blabbing and onto the picsÂ… I would like to give a big thanks to Ryan & Cat at IND for the amazing customer service and everyone at the shop for their amazing work, I couldnÂ’t be happier. I will have to plan a proper shoot in the near future but these will do for now.

Hope you guys like it!!

Such a beautiful car. Imola Red to this day is one of my favorite BMW colors. I'll never forget when I saw my first Imola Red E46 M3 for the first time. I could not stop drooling. Congrats!

I would avoid wheel cleaners, use the same soap and water that you use on the paint of the car since wheel cleaners are often acidic to eat away at brake dust. Extended use of wheel cleaners over a certain period of time can diminish not just the clear coat but it can potentially make the color fade. This isn't true for just our wheels or powdercoated wheels in general, I would recommend this practice on any wheel.

My next door neighbor had a 2002 Imola Red M3 convertible with a black interior and black top that was sharp as hell. Great color on the F80. Not sure why they don't offer a red for this platform that was a mistake I think. Congratulations
