M4's throttle was set to Efficient. I really wonder why he did that. People on M2 forum claim that it might be for eliminating the DCT advantage but I highly doubt that.

Oh noes! The M2 isn't the fastest on a small/tight track compared to a fat bloated M4 and the 1M is old and slow? Bring out the torches and pitchforks!

I mean come on... M4 Set to Efficient / Sport Plus / Sport.....

You can see the settings as Efficient / Sport Plus / Sport - wondering if the time would have been better in Sport Plus throttle setting?

Two manuals and a DCT.

I'm a little confused by this.

M4 Comp is a modified M4. More HP, bigger wheels/tires and modified suspension. Modify the 1M and M2 in the same manner and the spread would be nill to none. Oh and give them DCT's too.

Would still take the 1m any day. I mean there was only the small matter of the m2's power advantage.

He should have made it clear what DCT setting he was driving in for comparison. Would have liked to seen another run in sport plus mode.

So make an M2 ZCP? Look, this is a factory option, we're not talking the M4 GTS vs an M2.

With that said, I still would rather have seen a non-ZCP M4 with a manual in the comparison.

Still would own the 1M over the M2 though.

Ya - but that isn't the way it works. If you make it just like an M4 - you should just buy an M4 lol.

It's the motor trend philosophy ? :

Heck they should have had an M3 comp sedan .. Then it would be like ..:

Well if you want a warranty get the M2. If you want the fastest then get the M3.. And if you want the most kick ass M car that's the best value ... Get a 1M

I hope they do make a M2 ZCP! "Factory option" or not it's still a modified version of the car. It would be like comparing the 911 manual with a 911S PDK. Big difference!

Actually, it wouldn't be just like the M4, it would be a faster M2, which IMO would be even more reason not to buy an M4

So has there been an explanation as to why he ran it in efficient mode?

It was an apple compared to two oranges (due to the DCT as well as the hp/weight advantage , oh yeah ... and it's also a ZCP ..so it actually has received a reworking from the M folks...)

Why does it matter what mode it was in again ?

If you consider any Porsche S model just a "modified" base model.

More aggressive use of the anti-lag system thus faster acceleration out of the corners. Also keeps the engine noticably cooler in sport plus.

A track completed in less than a minute, of course the times will be close. He knows that. It's like they set this up for debates.

I like how the M2 guy in here is butthurt. lol Do you honestly think on a proper larger race track, say a GP level track an M2 will even be able to keep up with a standard F8x? I don't and it shouldn't.

Still love the 1M and glad it showed up the new comer.
