That is literally the best thing Pobst has ever said about a BMW since I started watch him and reading his comments. Even better than what he said about the GT4. He's not generally a big fan of modern BMW tuning.

Actually he is a big fan of the M2. His favorite BMW in the last 10 years.

I would agree.... IMHO it's because he has logged a ton of time in Porsches

Two seconds a lap improvement over the standard car is a huge difference and shows how much more performance BMW has extracted with the M4 GTS!

Should be interesting to see him drive an M3 or M4 ZCP to see if it slots right in the middle.

Agree, 2 seconds is alot. Still on short 2.6km hockenheim Gts is 3.2 seconds faster than the normal M4.

The reason is, you hear randy tell in gt350 vid, he was deadly comited set a solid lap time, that almost never happen he say. He seems more on it in this car than BMW

I agree but also have to note the GTS is on cup 2s compared to Pilot super sports , not to take anything away from super sports are great but the tire may have an important role in the lap time improvement

Thank you... I just watched the video of the Mustang GT350 and they mentioned that it is on the Michelin Sport Cup 2 " R" tire.... and it made me realize that so is the M4 GTS.

In that case... to be honest.... I would have to think that most of the lap time difference was actually due to the tires and I really am interested in seeing an M4 ZCP time.

M4 ZCP is also on super sports I believe , may have wider tire section I'm not entirely sure on its specifics and the m666

I just wanted to add, Don't get me wrong there is way more to it and overall , m4 Gts is 100% better suited for the track as it is more purposed built from the factory I'm not talking down on it , both m4 and GTS are amazing machines

Some porky nr.
GTS on motortrend is 1635kg, its them
US seats that put extra pork on it as we all know.

German sport auto car on euro Buckets was 1601kg

My car is 1610kg, as I got all extras like HUD, and all internet and consiglier service etc. That ad up like 9kg extra over sport auto car.

M4 zcp has same width tires as m4 gts....both are bigger than a standard m4.

The gt350r has wider tires in the front than the gts has on the rear, by a big amount too (let alone the rears)

Curious to see the same tires on the gt350r put on the m4 gts.

No it's not, considering one car is on R-comps and the other is not...

Rule of thumb is that R-comps are worth ~1 second per 1 minute lap time, hence the R-comps are worth ~1.5 seconds on Lagua Seca. So the GTS' coil-over, fancy suspension, aero, and 69 extra hp are only good for half a second ???

That is one big reason I believe something is off with the MT BDC GTS lap time...

Yes I would arge also that without take anything away from normal M4, it not that easy to just put on MPSC2 on the normal M4. Sure it would be faster than if on normal street tires. But due to cup tires 2 part layout and the lack of camber a bone stock M4 would not make use of the MPSC2 tires as god as GTS do.
