Official launch of the M4 GT4 racer
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com With photos from Bimmertoday: http://www.bimmertoday.de/2016/12/10...nsport-renner/ Also renderings from monholo oumar showing how the car without camo would look like (ok some of the details are not what the camouflage car is but you can get an idea): https://www.behance.net/gallery/4599...tition-package The BMW M4 GT4 will make its race debut earlier than expected, with an outing for the new car planned for the 2017 Hankook 24H Dubai next month. The M4 GT4, which was announced in July, was originally scheduled for a 2018 debut, but BMW Motorsport revealed at its end-of-season event in Munich on Friday that it will race a year earlier. Joerg Mueller, Dirk Adorf and Ricky Collard have been confirmed as the drivers in the M4 GT4, in an operation that will be run by Schubert Motorsport. Delivery to customer teams of the M4 GT4, which was on display at BMW’s event, will begin in 2018. “The comprehensive test programme with the BMW M4 GT4 will go on in parallel [with the GT3 program],” said BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt. “We will also see the car in action in a couple of races. Our privateer teams will then compete with the newest model from our product range in 2018.” BMW also announced its drivers for the 2017 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship on Friday, with Alexander Sims and Martin Tomczyk confirmed as new recruits joining Bill Auberlen and John Edwards for the full season. Meanwhile, Pixum Team Adrenalin Motorsport has won the BMW Sports Trophy Team Championship, while Michael Schrey won the similar award for drivers. Alex Zanardi was also presented with the Achievement of the Year award. It was also revealed that BMW Team Schnitzer will run an M6 GT3 in the 2017 FIA GT World Cup at Macau with the 19th BMW art car livery designed by Chinese artist Chao Fei.

Yes, I noticed that too. Albeit in what seems to be in 18" size.

Well, the actual GT4 in those pics has the pre-LCI taillights, so sure it doesn't have OLED. What's the big surprise ?
The other set of pictures are just non-BMW renders and are not from an actual car.

Finally, a lip that integrates brake duct inlets, just like the E9x M3 GT4 lip did. Cannot wait for that to hit the aftermarket scene.

Which one are you talking about? The actual GT4 or the render?

Boy I sure hope someone fields one of these in CTSC. Would love to see Porsche, Ford, and BMW going head-to-head in GS. That'd give the Bimmerworld F30 cars some company too

Funny how the actual GT4 race car does not have anything like those ugly under-bumper rear diffusers that people have on the forums.
I wonder what wheels the car has. Me likes.

No. you can see clearly that it has different wheels, different lip, and different wing, as well as different seats, steering wheel, and other interior parts. It also has different tail lights too, although that might just be due to the fact that it is pre-production.
This is a track only race car that cannot even be driven on the streets. The GTS is a street car (named desire?) that is built to go racing too. I don't know if this car will even get the water injected S55. They may very well stick with the standard S55 to keep things simple. The less moving parts, the less liklihood of something going wrong during a race. |
