My Project M3 - GTS | HRE R101LW | TAG Motorsports

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com

Pretty much the second the M4 GTS was spotted in camouflage and posted on Bimmerpost, I knew one of two things were necessary in my life: an M4 GTS, or at the very least, my M3 stuffed with GTS goodies. Well, I don’t have a GTS, so at that moment my relentless hunt for GTS parts began.

After many months of searching, the universe and the stars aligned, and one presented itself to me. The wait for an OEM hood was worth it, and it’s by far my favorite addition. I opted for painting the bottom section of the hood in Gloss, as opposed to the dry-carbon look of how it comes from factory.

Next up was the GTS front lip, another item I had been obsessing about since the spy photos. For the lip, I knew going OEM would be something I would regret later, should my car have a close encounter with the earth. In enters RKP Composites, the kings of OEM quality in the Carbon Fiber aftermarket world. Using OEM hardware, the RKP lip mounts directly to the frame of the car, behind the bumper. The lower tray was done in Alpine White, but with it, my front ground clearance drops to about 1/2 an inch. I’ll shoot it again with the lower tray once my nose lift system from Status Gruppe is installed.

Here’s a list of mods on my M3:

2015 BMW M3
- 20x10 and 20x12 HRE R101 Lightweight (R101LW) Wheels in Gloss White Finish
- 255/30/20 & 305/25/20 Hankook Ventus V12 +
- OEM GTS Hood
- RKP GTS Front Lip with Bottom Tray in Alpine White (not pictured)
- TAG Painted Calipers
- TAG Painted Reflector Package
- AWE Tuning SwitchPath Non-Resonated Exhaust with Diamond Black 102mm tips
- GIAC Stage I ECU Flash Tune
- BMC High Performance Air Filters
- BMW Performance Alcantara Steering Wheel
- BMW Performance Alcantara Shift Knob & Boot
- BMW Performance Alcantara Armrest
- BMW Performance Floor Mats
- Status Gruppe Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser in 1x1 Weave
- Status Gruppe Carbon Fiber Rear Decklid Spoiler in 1x1 Weave

That being said, I finally had some downtime that lined up with a gorgeous sunset and my camera being with me, and I couldn’t help myself since I’ve been dying to shoot my car with the GTS goodies on.

I’m absolutely in love with the current setup.

Enjoy the photos!

They did for the first couple of weeks, then I switched to the PosiQuiet Ceramic Brake Pads and now they are just clean for weeks without even touching them. I had them ceramic coated before mounting them up, so they've always been really easy to clean. The brake dust wipes right off, and most of it even falls off with water. This shoot was 1 week after a wash, so they do stay white now regardless. I highly recommend the pads though!! As close to OEM feel as I've felt with ceramic pads.

I have the Status Gruppe SRS Coilovers with the optional Ground Control Camber Plates. Absolutely love them. I referenced and linked them up in the original post.

Word...brake pad dust nowadays is such a common occurrence on newer cars. The masses want quiet brakes and with that comes the dust. How hard is it to swap pads on a F80?

It’s not very hard. There are only 2 pad sensors, and they are impossible to miss.

absolutely beautiful!!

Love every part of it, down to the teal brakes (which is my favorite thing I did to my F80). The white wheels are a bold move, but work perfectly. I would not want to clean those barrels though hahah

Thank you very much!! The calipers were the last piece of the puzzle. Had been thinking of what color to go with for months and months and the funny thing is, the second I thought of this specific shade of blue, we all went “well OF COURSE!”.

And yeah, switching to ceramic pads is the main reason these haven’t been refinished in another color yet. It’s actually not bad at all now. The car shows dirtiness before the wheels do.
