My home was burglarized and my M3 was stolen from my garage (Dog OK!)
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com Thanks to the super-slick Connected Drive app I was able to locate the car in a few seconds and point the police in the right direction, and they had the car back without incident that same night. The car is currently stuck in impound on a police hold while they 'process' it, so I haven't been able to see it and they won't tell me what kind of condition it's in...so I'm just assuming the worst. I'm trying to stay in good spirits, as things could have been way worse had we been home at the time, but the anxiety of not knowing the condition of the car is starting to wear on me a bit. On the bright side, it seems our pup doesn't mind having a bit of extra space to sprawl out. Update 8/15: I got the car back today! Overall it's in pretty decent shape, though rear bumper will need a bit of love (pics attached). Drove it 30 min back to my house and didn't notice any drivability issues, which to be honest was one of my biggest concerns. As a side note, I was able to meet the CSI investigators at the impound lot and watch as they very went through the car and gather fingerprints/DNA. Kind of a neat process to witness if you have never seen it before. Thanks everyone! Update 9/27: The thieves have been caught, and fingerprints taken from inside the car have been matched against them. Case closed!

Thank God the dog is OK! Metal can be replaced but not a soul of animal. Count your blessings.

Wow sorry to hear. That really sucks. Can u tell how they got in? Hopefully none of the jewelry or other stuff has sentimental value to anyone.

HOLY SHIT DUDE! That's horrible, very sorry to hear - of course everything's replaceable but hopefully your ride isn't trashed.
Yeah, cause that dog's already devolved to the consistency of jello. That said, and I'm as surprised as you, but it turns out that goldens don't know shit about fixing cars. WTF dogs?

Woah. I'm glad you got the car back at the very least.
I should do the app thing now as a precaution eh? I'm curious the police wasn't able to tell you anything about how your car is doing. o.O

Probably just a couple potheads wanting a joyride and easy cash to buy more.... Sorry, had to say it when I saw your location In all seriousness, wondering how they got into your house but glad you or your family were not there. These things are all 100% replaceable and not worth the confrontation if someone happened to be home so let them take the car. They'll be in jail and you'll have a brand new car if they trashed it. On a side note, maybe its time to lock up your firearms |
