Question BMW Jack Pad Adapter

I have been looking at forums regarding possible problems with the plastic jacking points on E9* cars not being up to the job. Some say they are, and it is the type/position of the jack being used. I have also seen an America adverts for these Jacking Pad Adapters. Can anyone tell me if you can buy these in the UK and if so from where as I have not been able to find them.

Thanks Davie

Can't help with the request [for info] but can confirm that they are pretty weak in some places. I snapped a wee piece off the other day. So now I have a wee piece of wood (6" end of fence plank) that I keep in the garage to act as a flat surface under the jacking point.

When I switch to non-RFTs I'll keep one in the car as well in case I need to jack it up when away from the house.

no need to spend ££s on something when a piece of wood does the job just fine.

Exactly. I have a piece of wood, too, cut to fit inside and taller than the recess. I wonder why BMW chose to fit those pieces of plastic shaped like that.

I bought a length of planed wood from B&Q which fits perfectly when cut to length (width and height are already the correct size).

Good Idea

That sounds like a plan, did think about that but wondered if anybody had gone down that road.

Cheers
