That's camouflage tape. You see it on all early camouflaged BMW prototypes nowadays.

Wenn ich SCOTT richtig verstanden habe, bekommt der M3 F80 einen tradizionellen R6. Beim M4 F82, da es ein "ganz" anderes Auto ist, vor allem vom Namen her, bekommt er auch eine ganz andere Konfigurazion, nämlich den für BMW unknvenzionellen V6. Mal abwarten.

Der Motor wird S55 heißen und basiert in Grundzügen auf dem N55. Allerdings ist das ZKG mit einigen Rippen verstärkt, um dem höheren Ladedruck Rechnung zu tragen. Desweiteren werden andere Kolben, Pleule, Kurbelwellen, Ventile inkl. Ventilsitzen, eine andere Einspritzanlage und ein komplett anderes Lader-Prinzip für weitere Differenzierung sorgen! Man kann also schon von einem komplett eigenem Motor sprechen, der dort verbaut werden wird. Leistung wird bei ca. 440 PS liegen und letzte Abstimmungstests laufen gerade...

Auch zum Thema V6 gibt es Neuigkeiten:
Bei einigen geistert immer noch die Geschichte umher, man würde den V6 etwas später erleben.
Dem ist nicht so! Das V6-Projekt mit dem Namen "Apollo" ist nach exakt 20 gebauten Versuchsaggregaten endgültig geschlossen worden.
Alle M3-Derivate (Limo, GT, Coupé, GrandCoupé und Cabrio) werden allesamt von ein und dem selben S55 angetrieben werden...
