Pretty sure the M3 will end up having a coupe!! and M4 is a separate model all together... could be wrong as this topic has been confusing and surrounding by tons of speculation for ages. That and the m4 mule had hideous round headlights ... not us if they will be round or its just the cover up but if they are sunken and round then all i keep thinking is acura integra meets bentley blah!.

Sorry M3Denver, but that's incorrect.

The currently prevailing thought is that there will be an M3 sedan and M4 coupe for the next generation. Basically the M3 coupe becomes the M4 coupe. There wouldn't be a separate M3 coupe in this scenario.

This is based on the fact that the next generation "3 series coupe" (F32) will become the "4 Series Coupe" and M model designations follow the series upon which they're based -- in this case the 4 Series Coupe would hence give rise to the M4 Coupe.

The BMW board could always decide to break with that naming convention of course. But, without confirmation of that, we continue to reference the next "M3 coupe" as the M4 coupe.

Read through our past articles (@ http://www.bimmerpost.com/m3/f30m3/) on the upcoming F80 M3 sedan and F82 M4 coupe and you'll get a better understanding of the overall picture.

Concept to preview the new M3 first.
Production car premiere IAA 2013 on sale in Europe November 2013.
On Sale Asia January 2014 , USA Spring 2014.
No CFRP roof for the Sedan. Only for M4 and M4 Gran Coupe.

Intriguing...
My only complaint is... The Birthmark.
Meaning the pride of Munich the license plate. No matter where a BMW is filmed whether in the USA , SA or Spain etc every car has its hometown right in view of everything , each BMW is conceived in Munich and this is passionately demonstrated. You never see another countries licence plate on a BMW at first unless it is a promo from that specific distributor.

Looks good, but I think the character line just below the head light will curve down and be incorporated into the lower air dam...kind of like on the Msport

The lower part of the front bumper kind of remind me of how the wings on the F4U Corsair meet the fuselage.

Source for that info? I know people have been saying this but just curious where this info came from. There's already no 2012 m3 sedan, are they really not going to have a 2013 as well?

Sorry, but I think you've lost your mind. The F30 has a much more aggresive front end because of the squared off look. No comparision in my opinion, and FYI the E90 M3 was one of my favorites and still is until this day. But this new M3 is going to be 10x more aggresive and sporty looking

The hood will look better without these two extra creases. I don't think they will be there anyway...

I'm confused a little. Will the headlights and front end be the same between coupe and sedan like the e9x models?

Shouldn't the f80 sedan be getting a more aggressive headlight design compared to the f30?

It's likely unless BMW got lazy and decided to go the same route Mercedes did with the C-Class coupe which was basically a sedan minus two doors with very little redesign.
