Lightbulb Tokyo Motor Show 2013: BMW M4 Concept Auto Show Premiere

BIMMERPOST NEWS
Tokyo Motor Show 2013: BMW M4 Concept

COMMENTS

The BMW M4 Concept has been making the rounds at many venues, beginning with its debut at the Pebble Beach week three months ago.

It's now making its auto show premiere at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show, the only auto show that it will be making an appearance. That's because the next major auto show - the 2014 Detroit NAIAS in January will feature the dual world premieres of the production 2014 M3 (F80) and 2014 M4 (F82).

What will the production models bring? The M4 Coupe will essentially retain its concept form (minus some of the fancier carbon fiber add-ons), while the M3 Sedan will look just like the recently spotted Yas Marina Blue M3.

Final performance figures and specs will be revealed at Detroit and they should be close to the preliminary stats already released by BMW.

Enjoy our photos!

that color looks insane in those lighting conditions. it's no mystery why they chose it.

My guess is that this prototype does not have production quality seats or instruments. We'll have to wait until Detroit.

Cheers.

This car is on 20s

Will there be a 20" option for these cars.. I like the look but saw in the order guide, 18 and 19" wheels only.. Anyone have any clue?

It's is going to be so hard to clean in between those exhaust pipes. But that car is gorgeous.

Great except for the hood cut line. It may be that paint or the lighting, but whatever the case the bumper and leading edge on the hood do not match the rest of the car perfectly. It reminds me of the faded and/or oxidized bumper caps you see on cars from the 1980's. Hopefully the real thing won't have this mismatch, as it would send my OCD into overdrive.

It was launched in Pebble Beach , its on a World Tour before the production car wraps come off in December its already been in the USA.
It was recently at the BMW Welt , GQ Awards and in key events in Europe and the UK. Its now in Asia hence its appearance in Tokyo.

The US focus is on the premiere of the 4er Cabrio and US market introduction of the BMW i3 and i8.
