I tried doing the same thing. The dealerships don't care. They told me to trade-in my vehicle, this is also in California and they wanted to rip me off big time. Let me answer your questions, though.
1. Yes 2. No, I don't think you would be able to fit people in the back seat at your height. I am about 5'8" and I there is very little room in the back for people to sit, maybe ten to twelve inches at best 3. The Nav is great, but you can always get a Garmin Nuvi and save money. 4. Side note: I have a 2008 335i coupe with sports, prem, auto, sirius, heated seats, rear sensors that I am paying $745 a month. It has 22 months remaining and only has 5,100 miles on it with 30,000 allowable under the 36 month lease. I have some kind of insurance against exterior damages included. Just a thought as I am trying to exit the lease. |

Maybe on the ? about early termination of a lease. I would guess that you would take some kind of a hit. But, it never hurt to ask and negotiate something to minimize the hit.
1. Manually lift the seat forward OR via an electronic switch that moves the seat forward. Pretty easy IMO. 2. I'm 5'8. You can definitely have passengers in the back even if you're 6'1''. Of course, the amount of room he/she has depends on how selfish you're with your space AND on how tall/big your passengers are. Short trips...no problems IMO. Long trips...probably not too comfortable. 3. There are a lot of GPS systems out there, including your droid. BUT, iDrive is a WHOLE lot more than GPS. If you are even considering it, GET IT. You will probably regret it if you didn't....especially b/c you'll be getting the "new" iDrive.

This is not a smart move unless you basically have almost the money of the remaining monthly payments since the dealer is not gonna care and needs to pay off your car. I can answer some of the questions:
1- It has it but I wish it was better. The switch is there to move it but the passenger seat never goes back to where it was and also you have to keep at the switch to move the seat. The switch doesn't just move the seat all the way with one touch. 2- I have had people 6'2 drive the car and others fit in the back fine. 3- Deffinitly get it. The new iDrive is very good. |

I have both, and the E90 is alot easier to live with. The E92 ride is harsher and overall seems smaller inside. Getting people into the back, and out, is a PIA anyway you put it.

Regarding question #1, I had a CLK350 prior to getting my 335i and there is no way that the access to the rear is as good on the MB. Manually, you can only lift the latch and tilt the seatback forward. The entire seat doesn't pull up and forward like the MB seat. There is a power button at the top seat corner to electrically move the seat forward first, but you have to hold it the entire time while it slowly moves forward. Afterward, it won't go back by itself, so hopefully you have the seat memory set so you can push the button to get back the original position.
For question #2, I'm 5'10" and think an adult could sit there, just. The couple isn't really a practical car for back seat passengers. My MB definitely had more back seat legroom and access was much easier.

I just came to an e90 from an e92. The back seat issue was one of the reasons for the switch. Why exactly do you want the coupe? Have you seen a new M-Package e90. Pretty damn sweet.

2. Answered earlier. 3. Navi is good. As stated, the new iDrive is easy to use and my '06 buddies prefer it greatly to the old version.

Only 11 months left, you could still lease transfer if you find someone willing to do that, the dealer will screw you though.

Went from E92-E90. Comments below.
Probably not. But 3 months early, they should let you do a pull-ahead. My dealer only offered me pull-ahead on a model they had in stock, though. You could perhaps order a new car to your liking to arrive at the 3-month point before your lease ends and then pull-ahead into that car, but I'm not sure.
It will undoubtedly be cheaper to keep your current car than to get a new one at this point. You have to decide if it's worth the financial hit. I wouldn't feel like it would, 11 months is a pretty short period of time to live with a car that is reliable and fun to drive, like your e90 is. I loved sitting in the back of my e92. It was very comfortable-you weren't pushed toward the center like you are in some other small cars. I liked the lighting, the armrest, the feeling of being enshrouded. Claustrophobic folks may hate it back there. New Idrive is the bomb. I'd definitely order it. You can email destinations directly to the car, from google maps on your PC/MAC, for heaven's sake....

You'll take a hit.
Why not keep it until closer to the time your lease is up, and in the meantime, enjoy learning about the new things that are being announced with E92 refresh...

there is absolutely NO WAY the dealer will let you out of the lease early. I was on the same page, i had a 2007 328i and wanted to get rid of it after several accidents and a piss poor job fixing the car. I even offered to make 75% of the remaining payments on a lump sum, and they said absolutely not...
Also, here's a rude awakening for any first time BMW leasers: When you return the car, BMW charges you a $340 "LEASE TERMINATION FEE"... i thought that's what a lease was, you drive a car for 3 years, make payments, and give it back... how are you terminating anything? oh, unless you lease another car from them. screw that, lease is garbage and waste of money, rather get a year or two old used car and own it with a warranty then piss away money to BMW financial (nazi's). |

You've lived with it for over two years, so you might as well stick with it for another few months. If you want an E92 next time, BMWFS will likely let you out of your current lease about 3 months early if you buy/lease a new BMW. So in 8 months you'll be good to go.

Basically, they are charging you for the paperwork involved in ending the lease and getting the car ready for sale or auction. Sort of like a dealer prep and documents fee on the back end. The reason they waive it if you get another car is an incentive to get you into another of their cars. Don't like lease termination fees? Then don't lease. It's that simple. BMW is really no worse than other car companies in this regard.
