So what do you think the 335 IS option will cost?

With my lease up in May, I will be looking into either a 335 or 335 IS coupe.

I'm sure they will make an announcement soon on price, but I can always speculate. Then decide if it's worth it.

M Sport - We know that M Sport comes standard. Currently at a cost of $3,250 for current models.

Transmission - Now here's the part I'm uncertain about. Forget about the optional DCT for one second. It will come with a standard steptronic automatic. Perhaps the 8 speed. A steptronic tranny on the 2010 is an option of $1,325. I'm sure they will factor in this cost as well.

Performance - I believe the BMW Performance Power Kit on current models is $2,100. Without labor.

Just adding these 3 figures alone will reach the $6,600+ mark. And don't forget I did not factor in the cosmetic features and sport exhaust.

The current base on the Z4 35i is $52,000. The rumored base on the Z4 35is will be $60,000. Althought DCT is standard. That would equate to a base of about $48,500 for the 335 IS compared to the current base of about $42,000.

I think no matter how you slice it and dice it, I can't see this option being less than $5,000.

If I were to guess, I would say the option will be between $6,500 - $7,000. Without DCT.

What do you think?

BMW goes after the S4
Audi’s recently released S4 sedan packs 333 hp and an optional seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and though it isn’t currently available in coupe or convertible form in the U.S., the 335is could just give it a little more competition. No word yet on whether the 335is will get a sedan variant, but the ‘is’ package has historically only applied to two-door 3 Series models

I am so confused. My 2008 E90 335i is actually listed as 335is. When I look up my VIN number, this is what comes out. When I register my car with BMWUSA.com it showed also as 335is. All dealership work order papers show the same thing....

That's just an internal thing. Depends on the dealership as well. Mine is listed as a 335ci. It just gives the internal folks something to delineate coupes from sedans.

There are a lot of cost savings when the parts are installed at the factory. I would be shocked if the package is > $5,000. DCT should be around $1,400 more than the step.

Plus a lot less stealership markup.

I'm guessing the MSRP 335is with DCT will cost near $51,000.

If that's base, it just made the M3 a better value IMHO.

I would speculate that a loaded 335is, prem, msport, dct, nav, logic etc... will come out close to 55-57Kmsrp.

iS is only available for coupe & vert for now. If you want the sedan (E90), you will get the N55 engine, with option for 8-speed step. Great car with ZMP. It would be nice to know if a tune from BMW Perf is forthcoming. There are several levels of tune planned for the N55, but who knows when and if we will be able to purchase BMW Perf upgrades.

Wavetrac LSD is about 1,100 + 500 install. That is a bargain!

If I were in the market for an E90 335 right now I would go EuroDelivery barebones with ZMP & 8 speed step. A GC or HPA suspension package. Wavetrac or Quaife LSD. And then wait for engine mods. Alternatively, wait for new M3.

If someone offered me 29k for my 335 this spring, that is what I would do.

Yes - I was somewhat annoyed to see that.
But I can do with the Coupe ...
And an ED trip w/my Daughter
is a good possibility.
The 8 speed Step for the 335iS Coupe is expected 'later'?
Thanks,

You think there will be a markup?

If not, I wonder if 500-1,000 over invoice will be attainable.

You're wrong on the Z4 pricing. You've failed to include the fact that the Z4is includes BOTH DCT and the sport package that you have to pay extra for with the regular Z4 35i. On the Z4, the IS costs about $5K more than the Z435i options to options. I would expect the same or slightly less on the 335, and I would expect the 335is will be priced almost exactly the same as a comparable S4, so about $5K more than a standard 335.

Oh no, I should've typed it clearer. No dealership markup on the 335is.

I was just agreeing with stressdoc that not only does having performance parts installed at the factory results in savings, it also prevents the stealership from marking up the price of performance parts/labor.

If I get the 335is it will be through European Delivery again, which is just $500-$1000 above ED invoice price. Doing this bypasses most of the negotiation BS. It's a steal.

I was thinking ED myself. If 500-1000 aboove invoice can happen, I might jump on it.

Problem is my lease is up May 15. I don't want to continue it since I will have a beater to get around. But I want to jump on one of the first slots. Does any one know if I can go to the dealership now and have them hold a slot when it's official, or do I have to wait for word from BMW?
