2009 E90 facelift?
I've heard rumors that it will debut at Frankfurt but this seems doubtful. Does anyone have any other tidbits on its release???
Edit: First pics of the E90 facelift ==> http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=81136 |

Various rumors about the sedan getting the coupe front end.
Oh and the V12 quad turbo. Basically two N54s stuck together in a narrow V.

The best rumor I heard was that it wasnt going to have any of the common problems. Just a rumor though.

Fuel tank will be on the roof with a pressurised gravity feed negating the requirement for any kind of fuel pump.

Yes the fuel tank is being moved to the roof. It will replace the current small shark fin with a larger one to accommodate 15 gallons of fuel. :rocks:

theres going to be no "facelift" soon. However, a "refresh" is comming soon for the E90. Im assuming its going to take on E92 headlights, a little tweaks here and here.
Cars usually run on a 5-6 year lifecycle. About half of its life (2.5-3years), the car gets a refresh which involves slight cosmetic changes, feature, adjustments with the current body. Facelift is when the car is designed again from the ground up. |

The 3-series has traditionally had a 7-8 year life cycle per generation, so the next update will be about 2012. A minor update might happen in 2009 though (mid-cycle for the E9x), as Aija indicated above, but there won't be anything major for a few more years.

Look for Magmd (spelled like that...it's a username). He's grafted on the front end of an e92 so he has sort of like an e90.2. Looks awesome. I'll post pics if I can find 'em.

Aha! Found it. Umm, just realized that the front also has an M-Sport kit, so it probably won't look too much like the update. Anyways, here is teh awesome:

BMW's are redesigned every 7 years. Face lifts happen on the 5th year of production. For the E90 that's the 2010 model year. Although the 08 5 series (facelifted) came out in middle of 07.
We'll see a face lift for the E90 in 2009 but it will be a 2010 model year. |
