We've shown you plenty of F30 3 Series LCI (facelift) photos, and here's the first good look at the 2016 F80 M3 LCI.
As expected and as the camouflage indicates, the only major exterior change will be the
new LED tail lights, as seen on the 3 series LCI prototypes. While the F30 3 Series LCI model will additionally receive a nip/tuck for its front end, the F80 M3 shares the M4's front styling, and if history holds (from the previous E9x M3 generation), neither the M3 nor M4 will get a revised front end during their lifetimes. A new wheel option - 20" style 666M will be available for the M3 LCI.
As for technology, the 2016 M3 will receive an upgraded iDrive system. Whether this entails a minor upgrade with updated software (featuring over-the-air NAV update capabilities and an online entertainment center), or a more significant overhaul to the
touchscreen system coming in the G11/G12 7 Series, remains to be seen. Our bet is on the former.
A competition package (ZCP) is also expected to be available sometime during the 2016 (U.S.) model year. No specifics yet on what the package entails.
