Because they have an Intel i9 ExtremEdition, 64Gb of DDR4 ram inside to calculate on how to make themselves more expensive than what they already are.
Seriously, they are LithiumIon. They do this for safety incase of accidents, and weight saving. But that is pain in the rear to deal with. These battery is supposed to last from 7-10 years. They have their own protection build in and pretty advanced (check ISTA for more info) so I dont know how we have bad batteries from cars that only few years old.
