Oh I thought you were making a joke before! Yeah, you get paid, get free stuff, get discounts etc.... Rule of thumb is if you have ~1M followers you get $10K per post..
I mean think about how many people you reach per post from an advertising standpoint, and it's very targeted advertising (meaning likely the audience you want looking at your product).
Only reason I know this is my wife is a 'micro' influencer and literally gets free stuff every week...usually 3-4 packages a week.
