Easy to copycat others work after it is done with research and development. The reason why he can only charge $150 for the work and parts. I find it incredibly cheap for the actual cost of having BMW order a new FOB for you and you will never get that one from them.
I am not trying to make a case here just my opinion.
I don't think gates is the one who poured the hours into researching what exactly had to be done, or the trial and error on which replica fobs are better than others. That's the spirit of the forum - to share your DIY with others.

On the flip side $150 is a small price to pay if you have no soldering skills and don't care to learn.
