The CS cars seem to hold their value a bit better as of today but who knows how that will go over the next few years.

Any input, especially in driving differences, would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you all in advance,

Tony
The CS gets confused with the "competition package" which may or may not be beneficial for you. Good if you are buying a CS at a normal F82 Comp price. So add "Competition" to your search. The CS is supposed to be a special car but when the CS was new, most people were not paying MSRP. It was significantly below MSRP. Back in 2019 I could lease an F82 M4 for the same monthly as a M4 CS...which I didn't take because you lose a lot of features like comfort access so I couldn't go down in terms of tech and luxury.

The G82 M4 solves some problems the F82 had. First was NVH. It's a much more refined car. Second was it's now able to put down the power and with AWD it's even better. The F82 has a problem putting the power down as you. This is just a normal issue when you have too much power and you don't have AWD. Same thing happens with the C63, spins the tire and difficult to launch. The G82 now launches in 2nd gear as part of it's launch control programming. Thirdly is that the crankhub is now a single piece so it gets rid of the fear of a spun crankhub (essentially timing gets messed up and theres a chance you'll bend your valves and have an expensive repair but most people don't end up with bent valves and just need to be retimed and get a new pinned crankhub).

Between the two the F82 is a more raw experience with more NVH. Suspension is harsher, the seat leather is harder than the G82, wind noise is louder, with a DCT you get those quirks of driving a manual like rolling on inclines and declines, no park gear so you're technically always in Neutral and the DCT delivers a much more aggressive launch experience than the G82 does. I only bring up DCT because the CS only comes in DCT (as far as I know). You also cannot drive a DCT like a normal car. You have to tap the gas to get rolling first before you can really put the power down or else you get a jerky sensation like if you dumped the clutch on a manual.

The G82 is a much more refined experience and is an evolution of the M4 and not a revolution. With the F82 came out, it was an evolution of the M3 as it introduced turbo chargers, CF strut brace, CF drive shaft, CFRP trunk lid, etc. The G82 cut some costs as it no longer has a CF Strut Brace or a CF Drive shaft.

I daily drive my F82 and on multiple occasions I wish the suspension and seat was more comfortable. Even in comfort mode it's still rough. I have every single option ticked on my F82 except Competition because that eliminates adjustable lumbar and at the time 99% of the time it came with 20 inch 666m wheels that would take forever to clean and would bend if your luck was terrible lol.

TLDR - Raw Experience get the F82. Refined Experience get the G82.
