The E36 came in Techno Violet, Daytona Violet, Boston Green, Dakar Yellow, Hellrot, Imola Red (limited run in 1999), Avus Blue, and my personal favorite, Estoril Blue. Now that is a true spread of colors.
Then the E46 came with Imola Red II, Phoenix Gold, Laguna Seca Blue, Carbon black, Mystic Blue, Interlagos blue, and Oxford Green. Again another real pallette to choose from. But after that, its been getting smaller and smaller with each subsequent generation.
Now with the F8X generation, we get 3 colors and 50 shades of grey...nice job BMW  |
Me thinks there are other world markets where a more conservative pallete sells better and well, BMW follows the money......
