The standard LED are Bi-LED not full adaptive. The standard LED are round in shape like xenons with the same circular halo's. The new ICon adaptive LED's are the full adaptives with the new design running lights that you see in this thread.

Previous model years had either Xenon or adaptive LED. The shape is different as the previous adaptive LED's are more like the new ICons, horizontal in shape instead of circular, and the light output is quite a bit better.

So to answer your question yes, the standard Bi-LED's are different than the full LED adaptives that were available previous to 2017 that you also had to spec the Exec package for. The New Icons are basically an upgrade to the previous adaptive LED's headlights....not the same as the standard lights that were either Xenon or this new Bi-LED that is being offered.
