- Most importantly you need to make sure you are using the correct instructions. There is one from 2014 (using the connectors under the footwell trim for grounding vs. the one from 2016 using the right door wiring harness for ground wire.

- I used the one from 01/2016 which refers to right door wiring harness X5*1B (below)

- Right door wiring harness is visible when you open the door. Push the tab upward and pull the male connector towards you. Female connector stays in the door column. Push in the tabs on top and bottom of female connector and let it fall inside where you will need to reach behind FEM cover and get it (first unscrew T-20 sitting in the middle of FEM box and gently separate from the frame just enough to squeeze your hand in and grab it.

- Just take your time and double check PIN numbers and colors- good practice is to mark all the wires and connectors prior to installation.

- Make sure to crimp those mini connectors used to tap two wires to the right door wiring harness- You need to hear a click until it pushes in all the way.

- One last advice, make sure you properly connect back the plugs CON2 (behind FEM cover) and A8*32B (behind steering column switch cluster) as they both use locking lever mechanism to securely pull the plug in to the socket.
