Exactly. Which is why I'm still shocked to this day that a seemingly conservative/play-it-safe company like Lexus (Toyota) would KEEP the V8 engine in the new RC-F/upcoming IS-F, when everyone is going turbos to meet CAFE standards.

And if you would have told me a couple years ago that the redesigned BMW M3/M4 would go turbo 6 cyl and the upcoming Lexus RC-F/IS-F would keep the V8, I would NOT have believed you. I would have thought it would be the other way around or at least both going turbos.

Lexus really surprised me with that one and I applaud them for that. Which is why I'm considering one of their cars as my next.
Could the v8 be a result of exhausted budget and no available v6 tt to compete? Regardless they will have a unique position in the market with MB BMW Cadillac all going turbo route.
