That's true, I'm fine with this stuff being optional but we usually don't even get the chance to order bucket seats or special models with real performance enhancements like the CSL, GTS, and CRT. On the other hand, making things like carbon fiber front and rear seats optional would make the cost of those options prohibitively high vs making them standard on all cars and spreading development costs across a lot of different models.

Since we're getting the M2 in the $50-55,000 range, it seems to me that there is some room to move the M3/M4's price a little more up market to make room for stuff like this.
