If we truly live in a democracy, which I do not believe so (primary reason being that the political system of a state does not supersede the cyclical nature of man), then all of our present ailments pertaining to crime, what leads to it, and how to prevent it would resolve, coming about naturally as a result of a free market of ideas.

I think we all know law enforcement is completely hamstrung. I am gathering your point is we don't live in a democracy. We live in a republic. Be glad we do. If we were in a true democracy, one of the prior mobs would have usurped complete control by now and we'd be in a dictatorship.
