I agree. Rinsing and plain soap will only work if you wash the car twice a week and bubble wrap it and drive it on brand new roads.
Still, with two bucket method and some basic care, it's much safer than a car wash l. Will it have some swirls at some point...I'm sure. But hey, otherwise you'd be in the detailing business.
