Calculate the area under the curve between 7000 and 8000 RPM of an engine that makes 250lb-ft in that range:

(8000-7000) x 250 / 5252 = 48 avg hp

In reality, it makes

(7000x250/5252 + 8000x250/5252)/2 = 357 avg hp
