Reading between the lines, you seem to somehow think that a tighter "track" would suit the 2-series better than an M3/4. Why? Because it doesn't allow as much space for open throttle, or you think the RWD Ms won't fare as well? The Ms will still take the corners better, accelerate quicker, lose less power in the turns, etc.
It's not just the power. The Ms have a weight advantage, gearing advantage, suspension advantage, braking advantage, aero advantage, tire advantage, etc.
Don't get me wrong, I like the 240i, but one of these two was built for performance. The other was built to be a sporty mid-range commuter car.
Basically, not a chance.
