That's how I think about my Mini Cooper S. I know it will cost me 2k -3k a year (water pump, timing chain, etc etc). But I love it some much. They say I can't afford that I will find something under warranty, lease, etc.
I don't daily the F80 because of safety at the train station.

Not every year! But I guess you are not familiar with Mini Coopers R56 and the engine and reliability issues. The timing chain issue is a major one and an involved repair. And there are many other issues. But they are such great daily drivers.
