I never really understood the need for any "wheel cleaner" honestly. Unless you don't wash your wheels for months and months at a time where brake dust might be harder to remove just your average car soap is enough to clean the wheels. Honestly think wheel cleaners is just BS that alot of detailers push. I always crack up when they show how "effective" a wheel cleaner is on youtube after they agitate the surface with a wheel brush. I could have done the same with my kids bubble solution lol
I'm not going to lie i've fallen victim to the hype in the past and also had a set of cheap wheels ruined just like this while using Meguiars wheels cleaner. Never again...

Thats been my experience as well. Any spray on/spray off wheel cleaner I have used has done little to nothing in terms of removing grime from the wheels. So if agitation is required I may as well just use soap and water since the same amount of effort is required and the end result is the same.
