I see. You might just want to look-up some M-specific numbers as well. One good data point might be the difference in price between the recently departed 2013 E92 335i M-Sport and 2013 E92 M3, optioned similarly like your F30 335i example. I don't know what the difference is myself, by the way. It may very well be near your 9k mark.

No doubt there are dozens of places BMW or other companies could choose to lower their profit margins. But that's really a separate topic from what they actually do in practice, which is all that we care about as far as estimating the price they charge the consumer.
