MO Spec PSS Tire Question

Posting this here in addition to my post in the M2 thread as there's usually more traffic over here.

So my rear tires are about gone at 14k miles. And I've found an insane deal on Michelin PSS 265/35 19 (98Y) MO spec tires...these are the factory fronts from the AMG GTC. Aside from the weight being different and a .1 inch tread width difference, they appear identical in other specs to the star spec BMW OEM rear PSS. Also note that on a 9.5" rim, the michelin site says the section width for each is the same.

Any thoughts on just how different they are? Where does that extra pound in the BMW tire come from...sidewall, compound? It's not the tire protector, checked images online and the Benz tires feature that as well. These PSS on the rear with the star spec on the front...how do we feel about that? They'd only be on for another about 10k miles until the fronts are gone.

Tire Rack's info chart. Star Spec on top, MO Spec on the bottom.
