Does the light on the actual switch come on and stay on, or does it cut off on its own after a short period of time? If it cuts off on its own shortly after, I've heard that this could be a sign that the heating element has failed in the wheel (hopefully this isn't the case for you).
My first intuition would be to check the fuses.
