I have seen people retrofit a NBT EVO into a late E Series. The G2x G series do not use a NBT EVO. BMW changed the internal data communications in the new G Series. All systems have been rethought and redesigned. It would be like trying to communicate between Mandarin and English without a translator (and a real-time translation device does not exist, at least as of this post).
Remember it would need to translate code and data in a very precise format between the two. Much harder to do that than "simple" (in comparison) word translation.
