And this isn't to yuck anyone's yum here or anything because I know the M2 has a huge following. And that's awesome. The car is quick, the steering is tight (love the Alcantara/suede wheel), the clutch and shifting was easy, and the suspension felt dialed in. I drove it in sport for a few minutes, then switched all to sport+ and got into it a bit. I just never had that "wow holy F this is incredible!" feeling. Like at all. This is a $90K car (if you're lucky to find one at that price) and TBH it felt like it could have been any other fast little car on the market. I just wasn't SUPER impressed. I'm picky though, I suppose.
I got back into my (aging?) F82 M4 and immediately I know I am in something special. Yeah, my car is stage 1 tuned (big deal) but everything about it screams fast. It even looks fast sitting in the parking lot. I am in total love/lust with it. That's the passion I would have expected to be evoked from the M2CS. Meh.
