I *just* bought my winter setup from Tirerack, like 5 minutes ago. I went with cheap wheels because winter (18x8 Alutec Drive) and 245/45R 18 Blizzaks. Mounted/balanced, with TPMS sensors and shipped was $1789. There’s a $50 rebate on the tires i think, so i’m pretty happy with a full winter setup for around $1700.
As to run-flats or not, I suppose that depends on how vicious your local roads are, and how much you plan to drive. Our roads in NH are bloody terrible, to be sure, but I don’t plan to drive much as I WFH and have a truck for really bad weather.
